Have you ever wondered how the Color Guards at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade or The Rose Parade get started? 

 

Perhaps you’ve seen a High School or College Marching Band being led by flags, rifles or sabers?  Perhaps you’ve seen a Winter Guard Competition?

What does it take to be a part of a team of performers that combine the skills of dancing, acrobatics and baton with precision?  There is one way to find out!

 

 

6th 7th & 8th Graders are Cordially Invited

 

To attend the first annual Color Guard Camp taking place in the Great Oak High School Performing Arts Center

(across from the Gym)

 

Great Oak High School (Thurs.-Sat.) Jan. 26th, 27th & 28th 

Each evening runs 6-8 PM, and Sat. 1:00-4:30 PM.

 

Saturday Jan. 28th, Great Oak High School will be hosting an exhibition of Winter Color Guard and Drum Line Performances from Temecula Valley's thre High Schools:  Great Oak; Chaparral and Temecula Valley 

 

Your family and friends are encouraged to attend this free event (beginning at 3 PM in the Great Oak Gym). 

It’s there that you will perform a dance & flag routine you will be learning at camp (Thurs-Sat.).

 

 

How do you sign up for this event? 

 

Fill out a Registration Form and Permission slip

Then send the forms electronically to:  jburdick-rutz@tvusd.k12.ca.us 

 

OR

 

You may bring the registration forms with you on the evening of Jan. 26th

(registration begins at 5:30 PM in the PAC)

along with $50 cash or check (made payable to: GOALS).  

 

It’s our hope you will learn what it takes to take part and be successful in the color guard activity! 

 

You will also take with you:

 

 Flag and pole

&

Shirt

(worn at the performance)

 

Little pink dude tossing  a rifle
