GOHS Band Booster Board Meeting

Call to order at 6:30 pm

Financials: Jeanne Davis

Income: $61,406.80, Expenses: $14,648.73, Current Balance: $46,748.07

 

Golf Tournament:  Joann Larsen

Need to get contract signed and a check in the amount of $936 for deposit to Red Hawk Golf Course.  We need golfers!!    Hole Sponsors: Quality Nissan and Paradise Chevrolet.  Shirt Sponsor: Avalon Management, Beverage Sponsors:  Long’s Drugs (Water, ice, sodas, goodie bags and items for goodies bags), Stater Brothers (water), Teresa Kaita’s sister (Lipton/Pepsi products).  Received donations from Pala Mesa Resort, Temecula Valley ConVis.  Baskets going well.  Requested an email be send to Jeannine Edlund at GOHS to send email blast to all school.

 

Announcements:   Jerry Burdick-Rutz

The Clippers want us to perform at half time during one of their games.  Perhaps our basketball team (and another local team?) play a game at Staple Center before their game?  We can sell tickets to our school and school we play – proceeds to go into General Fund.  Jerry checking on the details.  It would be sometime in Jan/Feb timeframe.

 

Fundraisers: Shereen Domkowski

Working on final design for blanket.

Pat & Oscars night is September 11th (same as 9-11 performance)

Richie’s Challenge is October 15th

Applebee’s Flapjack event is December 6th

Noodles in November – TBD

 

Uniforms:  Lucy Thudium

96 out of 97 MB kids fitted, 17 still need to bring signed uniform agreement, 9 still need to make payment to get uniform released.

Send email asking all band members to bring uniforms on Monday, Sept 8th  for inspection, Bring Shoes/Shakos on  Tuesday, Sept 9th for pictures.

 

Trailer Update: George Marshall

Working on inside to clean up, make more room. Taking out middle section and broken cabinet. Suggests we invest in some large tool boxes or containers to keep items in trailer we need like first aid, repair kits, etc. 

 

Color Guard:  Flags came in.  Uniforms have been ordered.  Need to clean out guard/storage room.

 

Volunteers:   Sharon Matus/Tammi Martin

Asked for updated rosters for Drum line, Color Guard and Jazz Band

Suggested a Parent Networking site on our website to help our band families help each other.

 

Washington DC Update:  Nancy Marshall

Had 73 signed up but now down to 69 students.  Next meeting is September 8th at 7pm. Next payment of $250 is due.  Need to pay deposit by Sept 1 ($100/per attendee) or face penalties.  John motioned to pay for 86 members @ $8,600.  Motion Carried.

Rooms:  70 quad. rooms, 6 dbl. rooms, 1 sgl. room

 

Bumper Stickers:  The Larsen’s are donating vinyl bumper signs with our tour design to be sold at $5/ea to go into the Wash DC general fund.

 

Scholarships requested

There is only $1,000 in budget. Eligibility is based on qualifying for reduced lunch.  Have to split 50/50 with Fall/Spring seasons.
