Minutes For: Booster Board Meeting
October 11, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. by Board President, John Rossi.
MINUTES: The minutes from September 10th booster board meeting was reviewed and approved as presented.
FINANCIALS: The Treasurers report presented an income of $68,466.44 with total expenses at $30,227.27 and a total net income of $38,239.17. A motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the treasurer’s report & expense report.
FUNDRAISING:
Richie’s Diner Challenge – GOHS vs. TVHS – Our night is scheduled for Wednesday, October 17 from 11:00-2:00 p.m., and again from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. We need everyone’s support on our newest annual fundraiser. The Richie’s Diner Trophy will be presented during half-time on Friday, October 19th.
Popcorn Sales - 3 per package choices of butter or kettle corn, cost per pkg $7.00 with $3.50 per pkg going back into student’s account. A motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the popcorn fundraiser.
HHR Paradise Chevrolet Car Give Away – A motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the opportunity drawing for the car give away. The cost is $10.00 per ticket with $5.00 going to the Boys & Girls Club. We will be selling these at the 10/19/07 football game.
Daphne’s – Flyers will be ready around October 24th.
Power Cards are due October 16. A possible exchange of old cards with a new card and new vendors. This is tabled until our next meeting.
JERRY’S MOMENTS: Jerry was approached by the students to have the Northern California Pinnacles National Monument performance to be by audition only. This has not been decided completely and was only a suggestion at this time.
The Spirit Band & Guard has also been invited to participate in the National Memorial Day Parade in 2009. This has to be looked into a little bit more and will be presented at a General Parent Meeting in the future as well.
Other upcoming events include:
1. This coming Saturday, 10/13 Ayala WBA competition in Chino Hills, please see website for details. A decision was made to provide a late lunch to the students at this event.
2. Wednesday, October 17th – Richie’s Diner Challenge – Jazz Band Ensemble will perform from 5:00-6:00 p.m. between Richie’s and Rubio’s and The Marching Band will perform from 6:00 -6:30 pm.
3. Friday, October 19. Host to VRMS & GMS 7th & 8th grade students at the Big Game vs. TVHS. The Richie’s Diner Trophy will be presented during half-time.
4. Friday, October 26 – Football game vs. Temescal Canyon. – The RCC Marching Tigers will be coming to GOHS to give a clinic early that afternoon, as well as being the guest performance during the Half time show.
5. Saturday, October 27 – Mission Viejo WBA Competition – see website for itinerary.
GOLF TOURNAMENT: Congratulations to all for the success of the Golf Tournament. A very special thank you would like to be given to Jamie & JoAnn Larsen for their countless hours of hard work in making this event a successful one. A net-profit of $11,500 was made and will be placed in our general fund. The Redhawk Golf Course would like us to come back again next year. This event was one of the largest turn-outs for a tournament/dinner event that they have ever had. A big thank you also goes to Marsi Yount, for the coordinating of the silent auction baskets and, this was especially a big hit!!!
BOARD GOALS: The ability to communicate
1. A Monthly Newsletter to the entire band parents for better communication.
2. Newsletter volunteer position

The Gupta family would like to thank the jazz band ensemble for their outstanding performance at a private event hosted by the family last month.
Thank you to the Gupta family for their generous donation toward the band which is to be put toward the general account.
Next General Parent Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m.
