Minutes For:  Booster Board Meeting

November 6, 2007

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. by Board President, John Rossi. 

MINUTES:  The minutes from October 10th booster board meeting were reviewed and approved as presented.

FINANCIALS:  The Treasurers report presented a net income of $89,439.67 with total expenses at $42,820.23 and a total net income of $46,619.44.  A motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the treasurer’s report & expense report.

FUNDRAISING:

Our main focus was for the Fire Victims Benefit Concert that is taking place at GOHS Stadium on Tuesday, November 13th.  Logistics were discussed for the following: Our Council Woman, Mary Ann Edwards will open the show with an introduction as well as the singing of The National Anthem; Volunteers – Sharon & Tami Martin; Concessions - Marsi, Nancy & John; Donations, Sponsorships, Entry donations -  Jeannie;  50/50 Opportunity Drawing – Tammi Payton; Hospitality for the band directors, staff and the Air Force Rock Band – Teri;  Parking – George Langham;  Signage – Joann;  First Aid Station – Kara;  Instrument Repair Station – Shamrock Music;  and Media Coverage – Mimi.  We will need the pop-ups for the following areas; Hospitality 2 pop-ups, First Aid 1 pop-up and Instrument repair 1 pop-up.

JERRY’S MOMENTS:  Jerry discussed a performance time line for the benefit concert and has also invited all of the middle schools in the area to perform at the beginning of the show as well as combined ROTC students from all of the Temecula High Schools.

RCC is scheduled to be here around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, to put on a clinic for our students.  There are no fields available for this clinic so a stand still performance will take place with a critiquing session by the RCC Band Director and staff.

 

OTHER INFORMATION:  Transportation:  Christina reported that the bus drivers were not very happy with the students and the way that they had left they’re buses from Saturday’s competition.  The student’s conduct on the bus was discussed as well.  Jerry will be talking with the students regarding this and it will be handled accordingly.

Our next General Parent Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m.  All board members are asked to bring 2-dozen cookies to share.
