The Spirit of Great Oak Band Invites You to Take
“Lessons for London”
The Spirit of Great Oak High School Band & Guard has been selected to represent the United States in London’s New Year’s Day Parade on January 1, 2013, one of the largest parades in the world. To provide the necessary funding for participation in this very special honor and historical opportunity The Spirit of Great Oak High School Band student instructors are providing private lessons under the supervision of the GOHS Band Director at the GOHS music room-920 beginning in January 31st, 2012.
This program is a continuation from the Fall Semester for 4th, 5th & 6th grade students that enjoyed the program, and is open to Band Students in those same grades that would like to begin this Semester. Additionally, 8th grade students that would like to learn a new instrument may also find these lessons affordable & convenient. Instruments offered include: Flute; Clarinet; Alto; Tenor or Bari. Saxophone; Trumpet; Trombone, Tuba, Percussion (Mallets or Snare Drum); or Guitar.
This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce your child to an instrument and help a GOHS band student participate in London’s New Year’s Day Parade 2013.
The cost per student is $120/semester for 12 weekly lessons. Student will need to bring their own instrument and the beginning music book for their instrument. Area music stores are a great resource and inexpensively provide student instruments.
